ABB is one of the leading suppliers of products, systems, and services in electrical power worldwide. The market is growing, and we need to expand our team. At ABB Service, we strive to be close to our customers and are therefore represented in several locations across Sweden – from Gällivare in the north to Malmö in the south. We are currently looking for service technicians in electrical power for Västerås. Our mission is to provide services that increase operational reliability, availability, and profitability while reducing environmental impact in our customers' production facilities. We cover the entire lifecycle of the facility and help our customers work on continuous improvements.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Test and install relay protection of various generations in customer facilities.
  • Participate in service assignments and provide technical support to customers regarding relay protection.
  • You will engage in corrective and preventive maintenance of medium voltage circuit breakers 1000kV-24kV, low voltage circuit breakers -1000V, relay protection, and other equipment in substation facilities.
  • Repair and troubleshoot power products in the workshop as needed.
  • In the future, you will participate in commissioning substations and have the opportunity to join an emergency response team.
  • You will act as sales support and resource in quotation work, including upgrades and renovations of power equipment.

Your Background

  • You have experience as a service technician/engineer or as a maintenance electrician in industrial facilities or similar operations.
  • You can read both mechanical and electrical drawings, and it is an advantage if you are also an experienced user of measuring equipment in substation environments.
  • Experience testing protection with Omicron or similar testing equipment.
  • Experience in commissioning, testing, and facility construction is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of relay protection and 61850 protocol.
  • It is advantageous to have previously worked with similar products including ABB's power products.
  • Experience in facility construction, commissioning, and testing is advantageous.
  • You have a valid driver's license (B).
  • You can use a computer in your work and know how to handle and interpret measurement data.
  • You are fluent in both English and Swedish, spoken and written.
  • As a person, you are social, meticulous, and always prioritize work safety.
  • You have a good sense of humor and an open and empathetic attitude towards customers and colleagues.
  • You enjoy working both mechanically and practically with tasks such as assembly and electrical testing and troubleshooting.
  • Since travel is sometimes required for the job, it is important that you enjoy a mobile lifestyle.
